Dennett, Craig & Pate Funeral Home has been a family-run business since 1890. We are proud to help the communities we serve, just as we have been for over 130 years ~ one family at a time.

 

James T. Pate

James T. Pate has been a Licensed Funeral Director in the State of Maine since 1987. Jim was born in Maine, grew up in Saco and graduated from Thornton Academy. He received degrees in Finance and Management from Bentley College and later graduated with honors from New England Institute of Applied Arts and Science. He has worked at Dennett, Craig & Pate Funeral Home since 1986.

Jim has been an active member of the Saco community, including:

  • Dyer Library - Past President of the Board of Trustees and present Chairman of the Building and Grounds.
  • Saco Historical Commission - past member and President of the Saco Historical Commission.
  • Saco Bay Rotary Club - Charter member
  • Saco Little League and various youth hockey associations - Member
  • Saco Masonic Lodge - present Treasurer and past Master
  • Buxton-Hollis Historical Society- Member
  • Bear HIll Baptist Church - Vice Chairman
  • Hollis Lions Club- Community Service

Jim lives in Saco with his wife, Lisa, and together they have two adult children, Jonathan of Boston and Katherine of Rutland, Vermont.

 

 

Robert D. Pate

Robert D. Pate began his career in funeral service in 1958, after completing mortuary school. After working at a funeral home in Rockland, Maine, and operating a hearse & embalming business for many years, Bob purchased Dennett & Craig Funeral Home from the aging Earl Clark in 1965, and the rest, as they say, is history – and can be found on the History page.

Bob served in the US Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He is a former member of the Saco Rotary Club and was on the Board for the Salvation Army, and is still active in the community. He lives in Saco with his wife, Clara.



Lisa A. Pate

Lisa A. Pate became a Licensed Director with the State of Maine in 2017. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from Fine Mortuary College and received Dodge Corporation's Restorative Art Award.   Lisa also graduated from Bentley College in 1987 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Information Systems and an Associate’s Degree in Management.  After college, Lisa worked at IDEXX Laboratories in Westbrook as a Human Resource Information Systems Analyst, then left to work part-time at Saco Valley Credit Union for over 20 years to raise her children. 

Lisa is an active member of the Saco/Buxton community including:

  • Saco Bay Rotary Club - Member
  • Annette Chapter of Eastern Star - Member
  • Buxton Garden Club - Member/Vice President
  • Maine Funeral Directors Association - Secretary

She lives in Saco with her husband, Jim and together they have two adult children, Jonathan of Boston and Katherine of Rutland, Vermont.

 

Frederick J. Randall

Frederick J. Randall became a Licensed Funeral Director with the State of Maine in 2021. He is a native of Saco, living there his entire life. After graduating from Thornton Academy in 2011, he attended University of New England in Biddeford receiving a bachelor's degree in Health, Wellness and Occupational studies in 2015. Following graduation, Fred worked as an education technician at the Spurwink Therapeutic Preschool in Saco. With a career change, Fred began working at Dennett Craig and Pate Funeral Home in the summer of 2017, graduating from Fine Mortuary College in 2021.

Fred lives in Buxton with his fiance, Jenn and their daughter Lily.

Kristina M. St. Cyr

Kristina M. St. Cyr is a Licensed Funeral Attendant and Office Manager at Dennett, Craig and Pate Funeral Home and started working for us in 1998. In addition to these two roles, Kris does the web design and also develops the Memorial DVDs for our customers. Her technical and design abilities, coupled with her sensitivity, allows her to be able to create a visual memorial that will touch the heart of all who knew your loved one.

Kris attended Hollis Schools, graduating from Bonny Eagle High School. She is involved in her children's sporting activities and volunteering at basketball and baseball games. She lives in Gorham with her husband, Ray and 3 children, RJ, Cameron and Hayley.



Katherine J. Pate

Katherine J. Pate is a Licensed Funeral Attendant at Dennett, Craig and Pate Funeral Home. She grew up in Saco and graduated from Westminster School in Simsbury, Connecticut. While at Westminster, she played softball, hockey and field hockey, receiving awards for All Tournament Goalie and Senior All Star for Field Hockey. While playing softball her team won the Division One West Championship, 3 out of 4 years and was runner up the third. In ice hockey, her team won the Division One Championship NEPSAC 2 years, once as a third former and again as a sixth former. In her sixth year, she was named Captain for the Martlets, and also was named to the Division One first team. Her travel hockey team, Assabet Valley, won the Division One National Championship at the u-12, u-16, and twice at the u-19 level. Katherine is presently enrolled in the Business Program at the University of Vermont, where she plays ice hockey for the Catamounts.

 

Duane B. Foss

Duane B. Foss is a Licensed Funeral Attendant at Dennett, Craig and Pate Funeral Home and started working for us in 2014. He has a degree in Criminology and previously worked at Cumberland County Jail as a Corrections Officer. He lives in Bar Mills with his wife, Jackie Walsh Foss.
